Running in the background
By default MacWatcher only watches while it’s running. To keep watching after you quit, turn on Run in background (Settings → General).
What it does
Section titled “What it does”A small background service takes over watching, so an away-session keeps running even if the app isn’t open.
Grant the service its own camera permission
Section titled “Grant the service its own camera permission”The background service is a separate program, so macOS gives it its own camera permission entry. When you enable Run in background, the app shows two camera rows — grant the service access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera as well, or background captures will be blank.
Turning it off
Section titled “Turning it off”Switch Run in background off to go back to watching only while the app is open.
