Privacy & your data
MacWatcher is built to keep your data on your device.
Stays on your Mac
Section titled “Stays on your Mac”- Captured photos and the activity log — written to your local capture folder.
- Your settings and profiles.
- Trusted Faces data and the face model — recognition is 100% on-device.
These leave your Mac only if you turn on a delivery integration, and then only to the destination you configure — never to Amrah Studio.
Telegram
Section titled “Telegram”Telegram delivery is optional. If you enable it, MacWatcher sends alerts through a bot you created and paired. The bot token is stored in the macOS Keychain. Amrah Studio does not receive the token, Telegram messages, or alert photos.
Telegram bot chats are not end-to-end encrypted secret chats. Treat the bot token like a password and rotate it in BotFather if it is exposed.
What our servers receive
Section titled “What our servers receive”Only when you activate a license or check for updates:
- your license key,
- a device identifier — a value hashed from your Mac’s hardware (we never receive the raw hardware value; it isn’t your name), and
- the product name.
No photos, no documents, no personal files.
About the device identifier
Section titled “About the device identifier”It’s stable on your Mac and the same across Amrah Studio apps, which lets us enforce seat limits and detect license sharing. It is used only for license enforcement — never for advertising or web tracking. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
